John Barnes is an old friend of the Sporting Club but only as a rapper at our Gala Awards Dinner. We thought it was high time we honoured one of the greatest attacking midfielders this country has ever witnessed with a lunch in his honour. Hear how John starred for Watford and especially the mighty Liverpool of the 1980s and 1990s winning two league titles and two FA Cups, and for England where he won 79 caps and played in two memorable world cups in 1986 and 1990. Listen to how he starred in the New Order England World Cup song with his famous rap, and how he navigated his way through the troublesome 1980s.
